Carl Craig Presents Innerzone Orchestra
(UK Debut)
www.planet-e.net

UK DEBUT ALERT! For the first time ever, techno pioneer Carl Craig will be reforming his ‘Innerzone Orchestra’ for an exclusive performance at Get Loaded in the Park featuring a brand new line-up of musicians and a 10-piece string orchestra. Re-scoring the entire Innerzone catalogue and introducing new additional instruments, this has never been seen or done before anywhere in the world! No artist in the techno genre commands as much respect, from fans and peers alike, as consistently and influentially as Detroit-based DJ and producer Carl Craig. As an artist, a label-owner and club DJ, he is one of the few who has literally helped shape the sound of modern electronic music, with an inventive career that has spanned nearly 20 years. Recording under his own name and many aliases – including 69, Psyche, BFC, Paperclip People, Innerzone Orchestra, C2, Tres Demented and others – Craig owns a constellation of seminal recordings that have established him as an icon in the techno genre. He came of age as part of its ‘second generation,’ learning from the trio of pioneers credited with techno’s invention: Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson. Though the genre has exploded in recent years, Craig’s role as a producer, DJ and ambassador for the music remains as vital as ever. The Innerzone Orchestra is a special project for Craig, whose roots lie in one of the most respected singles of Craig's career, ‘Bug in the Bassbin’ - released on his own Planet E Recordings. Experimenting with rhythms and syncopation and, to some extent, the hypnotic improvisation of jazz, the track was picked up by 4 Hero, Goldie, and J.Majik - becoming a key influence in the then evolving sound of drum n bass. A swell of interest returned to Carl a few years later when the Craig obsessed James Lavelle re-issued the track on his Mo' Wax label. A new generation of beat-heads would open the door for Craig to resurrect his Innerzone Orchestra alias and in 1999 they finally recorded their full-length debut ‘Programmed’ for Astralwerks. The critically acclaimed albums’ explorations into techno-influenced jazz recordings, film scores and old soul signalled Craig's thirst to push the boundaries and make an impact on music beyond the genre of techno. The original Innerzone Orchestra saw Craig on programming, and group members including percussionist Francisco Mora Catlett, keyboard player Craig Taborn and Rodney Whitaker on upright bass. Live dates were rare, but New York's Central Park Summer Stage followed later that year. Even rarer then is this unmissable Innerzone Orchestra performance on the main stage at Get Loaded, with Carl Craig as main support to Orbital... and what a combination that will be!

Roni Size Reprazent (UK Festival Exclusive)
www.myspace.com/ronisizebristol

EXCLUSIVE ALERT! Get Loaded can confirm that Roni Size Reprazent’s appearance on the Common will be their only UK Festival Show of 2009. The release of the group’s debut album ‘New Forms’ in 1997, is one of those landmark albums that didn't just define a genre, but an era. Roni Size took the drum n bass genre to a whole new level, finding new ways to incorporate live vocals, live instruments, and a jazz feel. ‘New Forms’ won the Mercury Music Prize in the year of its release and introduced drum n bass to a completely new audience. Singles from the album 'Brown Paper Bag', 'Heroes' and 'Watching Windows' remain modern day classics and the LP has since gone five times platinum. A decade on, Roni’s released ‘New Forms 2’, featuring a selection of the original tracks, altered with additional production and overdubs, plus three brand-new tracks. Roni reformed the band last year - complete with original members including Dynamite MC and Onallee and they were later nominated for Best Dance act at the UK Festival Awards. Get Loaded is the only festival you’ll catch them play live all year so make the most of their main stage slot!

Peaches
www.myspace.com/peaches

The Canadian star has never been afraid to be different – to challenge people’s opinions and perceptions of her as an artist. With her pioneering electro-punk sound that now seems to have taken hold amongst a new breed of female stars, Peaches is as relevant to the musical landscape as ever before. On her new album ‘I Feel Cream’ she does it again, this time producing, along with the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, Soulwax, Digitalism and Drums of Death, her most pop-sounding album to date. That’s not to say she’s mellowing or taking things easy, far from it in fact. At her recent Ether Festival Hall gig she was levitated towards the lasers on wires, wearing a see-through leotard with a flashing pink light on her crotch and angel wings! Iggy Pop is one of her biggest fans, and Peaches will comfortably fill the shoes left by Iggy & The Stooges at last year’s Get Loaded festival. Get ready for the mayhem!

Freeland
www.myspace.com/adamfreelandmusic

Any time now, iconoclastic producer/DJ Adam Freeland releases ‘Cope’, his first artist album in six years, on his own independent Marine Parade label. Like his 2003 solo album debut ‘Now&Them’ and its uncompromising worldwide smash ‘We Want Your Soul’, Freeland’s much-anticipated latest traffics in the unexpected—electro beats banging enough to fill dancefloors, yet twisted with sounds and collaborations from uncharted waters. Freeland can be heard in the open air at Get Loaded where Adam and the gang will be performing live on the main stage. Don’t miss it!

Sneaky Sound System
www.myspace.com/sneakysoundsystem

Sneaky Sound System are arguably the biggest band in Australia right now. Their single ‘I Love It’ had the longest chart run in Oz history, their debut album has gone twice platinum and at one point they had four singles in the Top 40. They played the Antipodean Live Earth concert, supported Robbie Williams, and cleaned up at the Arias (the down-under version of the Brits). Yet Sneaky are not a hard-touring rock band or a manufactured pop act. They’re certainly pop and proud of it, but their background lies in their country’s exploding dance scene. Sneaky Sound System are Sydney trio Miss Connie (Connie Mitchell), Black Angus (Angus McDonald), and MC Double D (Daimon Downey), three very different characters bonded by a riotous sense of fun. Their origins lie in the hugely successful club night Sneaky Sundays, thus they make music imbued with frolicking nightlife energy but also flecked with sing-along radio-friendly 1980s electro-pop. Check out the self titled album in the shops now, and watch the SSS fans take over the Common in their thousands on the day!

Magnetic Man Feat Skream & Benga
www.myspace.com/magneticmandubstep

Magnetic Man is a live electronic music project consisting of pioneering dubstep producers and DJs Skream, Benga and Artwork. They perform using three Apple Macbook Pro computers, one playing drum samples and loops, one playing basslines and the third playing lead sounds and samples. Artwork controls the master laptop, using Ableton Live to which Skream & Benga are synchronised via midi controls. During their live shows Magnetic Man mix up original tracks produced together, and live remixes of Benga and Skream's tracks, accompanied by the live projected visuals. Magnetic Man is the first dubstep act to feature at Get Loaded in the Park and with a sell-out UK tour taking in London’s Scala and Manchester’s Warehouse Project at the end of 2008, this is one set not to be missed.

Krafty Kuts
www.myspace.com/djkraftykuts

Finger Lickin’ Records’ talisman Krafty Kuts makes it 2 years on the bounce at Get Loaded as he follows up last year’s incredible debut set with more of the same. He  is without doubt one of the world’s greatest DJs. Lauded in the UK, worshipped in Australia, acclaimed in America... where ever he plays, Krafty is guaranteed to cause a commotion with his riotous skills. So far in a glittering career he has gained dance music’s top accolades including ‘Best International DJ’ at the Australian Dance Music Awards, Breakspoll’s ‘Face of Breaks’ 2003 and ‘Best Breaks DJ’ at the M8 Ibiza awards 2006, in only his first year as a resident on the white isle. A stunning haul at Breakspoll 2007 saw him claiming ‘Best Album’ for his debut long player ‘Freakshow’, ‘Best DJ’ for a record third consecutive year and to cap it off, the richly deserved ‘Outstanding Contribution to Breakbeat’ award that acknowledged his long journey to the acme of club culture. New for 2009 is his forthcoming album ‘An Evening with Krafty Kuts’ which sees a retrospective return to all things funky and the amazing ‘Happiness’ single (collab with A-Skillz) as he continues to lay down the beats YOU need to hear!

Evil Nine
www.myspace.com/evilnine

Brighton duo Tom Beaufoy and Pat Pardy aka Evil Nine first came to our senses with the release of their acclaimed debut album ‘You Can Be Special Too’ on Adam Freeland’s Marine Parade label in 2004. With praise like “The Beastie Boys would be proud” (Q Magazine) and “best album I’ve heard in a long time” (Pete Tong), it’s not surprising Evil Nine won ‘Best Album’ at the Breakspoll Awards and went onto remix dance artists including Adam Freeland, Timo Maas and UNKLE and release mix compilations for Fabric and Y4K. The duos highly anticipated follow up ‘They Live!’ does for zombies what Daft Punk did for robots! With stomping electro drums, ‘80s Italian horror-movie synths, dirty punk basslines, and a wanton disregard for genre rules, the infamously subversive dance/electronic duo have created an unstoppable soundtrack for the new zombie revolution, down to the gory horror-show cover. Whether zombies are included on their Get Loaded rider remains to be seen, but a fiendishly fun time is mostly definitely guaranteed.

Devils Gun
www.myspace.com/devilsgun

"Pairs the energy and style of an early Basement Jaxx, but with a broader musical Palette" so said Music Week. Devils Gun are the London five-piece, lead by their charismatic afro-haired frontman Jagga. Devils Gun’s hard hitting productions provide a twisted amalgamation of electro, breakbeat, house and sleazy synth-rock and the band will be making their second Get Loaded outing, having rocked it in between 2manydjs and Digitalism 2 years ago. With new tracks to showcase, it’s good to have ‘em back.
